Beth Chin, also known by her former alias Elli Sebastian, is a multi-talented artist who operates under two distinct names – Beth and Bexx, catering to diverse audiences. Much like her own multiracial identity, her artistic personas reflect two sides of a harmonious whole, akin to the contrasting faces of a moon—full and new.
With a deep exploration of multiracial identities, physicality, and the essence of movement, Beth's art takes on various forms. Her repertoire encompasses figure drawings, paintings, music, community-based public artworks, and forming communities through creative projects – such as, All Related Artin Hamburg, Germany, and Re-Mixed in the United States, both of which are creative communities that celebrate multiracial and multiethnic identity through online and in person gallery shows and events. Through these expressions, she not only represents communities but also fosters a sense of belonging in multicultural settings.
Beth's passion for elucidating and defining the multiracial and multiethnic experience led her to publish "Being Mixed - A Visual Guide On Mixed Identity" in 2020 and was featured on multiple multiracial publications including Mixed Life Media, Multiracial Americans of Southern California (MASC), Blended Future Project, and more. Through visual storytelling, this book serves as a guide for embracing multicultural values and dismantling exclusivity in our global society.
Currently she is working on expanding her creative reach with a design brand, "Forever Subculture," to bring multiracial celebration off the web and into our homes and communities with fashion and home goods to make individuals feel at home wherever they are.
